Oct. 13, 2021

Get ready for your Halloween festivities with fast and easy seasonal foods made with a variety of Mission tortillas and chips. Nothing will bring your family and friends together like finger foods and dips that scream spooky ghosts and scary goblins.

Did you know that Halloween dates back 2,000 years and Trick or Treat has existed since Medieval times? Kick off this fun holiday with the flavors of fall! Nothing will bring the family together like finger foods and dips that scream Halloween. Watch how quickly and easily Mission tortillas, wraps and chips transform into Halloween favorites for kids and adults alike! Invite family and friends to come in costume and enjoy your time with your little ghosts and goblins. Boo!

Autumn Nachos are a fall favorite! And this appetizer is ready in just 15 minutes. Mission Rounds Tortilla Chips topped with a spicy melted cheddar cheese sauce and garnished with spiralized sweet potatoes, chopped heirloom tomatoes and chives make a colorful attractive dish. Use apple juice or your favorite white wine in the sauce depending on your crowd. Or make two batches - because Autumn Nachos are so fast and easy. Then just watch them disappear. For an extra Halloween touch, add drops of sour cream with a black olive slice to look like eyeballs.

Who doesn’t love to dip a chip? Buffalo Chicken Dip is easy to make in one dish! The recipe combines three cheeses - mozzarella, blue cheese and cream cheese - with everyone’s all-time-favorite Ranch dressing. Buffalo wing sauce adds a little kick that smothers the shredded cooked chicken. Serve with warm Mission Strips Tortilla Chips. Ramp up the Halloween fun by adding a few floating eyeball gumballs or candy eyeballs on top and drizzle with extra wing sauce before serving. Scary-licious!

Everyone will love this vegan-friendly appetizer dip, not just the vegetarians in your life! Get out your blender to make this super-fast Vegan Poblano Black Bean Queso Dip. Onions, garlic and cilantro swirl together quickly with poblano and red peppers, hemp and flax seeds, and salsa. Coconut milk keeps the dish vegan. Once everything is mingled to smooth perfection, add black beans and skillet-cook for five minutes. Serve with Organic Blue Corn Tortilla Chips. Test your food decorating skills with a sour cream spider web on top. Make spiders from black olives cut in half for bodies and tiny slices for spider legs.

Craving something completely different? Whip up flavorful Beer Queso. Chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt and pepper combine with lime juice and your favorite bottle of beer to season the beef. Allow a few minutes cooking time for the flavors to meld together. Avocados, serranos and chopped cilantro make the perfect garnish along with Organic Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips. Watch the video to see how quickly and easily the dip comes together.

Need something filling and warm to keep your Trick or Treaters going all night? Start with ten-inch Burrito Flour Tortillas and make Green Chili Chicken Quesadillas. Chopped or shredded pre-cooked chicken layered with white pinto beans, Monterey Jack Cheese and green chilies between two quesadillas then browned in a skillet is fast and fun to prepare. Cut out a jack-o-lantern face on one of the tortillas before layering. Or slice finished quesadillas into small triangles to serve as finger food on the run or as an appetizer at your Halloween gathering.

Vegetarian Pinwheels transform into little Halloween goblins when you “glue” cut veggies like olives, cucumbers and carrots with a dab of cream cheese to make silly faces on the tops of these mini 2-inch wraps. Add toothpicks with small blocks of cheese for arms! Start by layering lettuce and cilantro onto Soft Taco Flour Tortillas and roll, roll, roll! Then cut into bite size pieces for little hands. Taco sauce or red enchilada sauce makes a great dip.

It’s a simple yummy three-ingredient dessert. Make them scary with a drizzle of blood-red raspberry sauce on top!
