Mission's Favorite Delicious Flatbread Recipes

Mission’s line of flatbreads includes Fresh Signature Flatbread Original, Naan and Mini Naan, Pita, Pita Whole Wheat, and Roti Uncooked Whole Wheat. Each can be used as a base for pizzas, sandwiches, Mediterranean dishes, and more. Here are some of our favorite flatbread recipes!

Pizzas

The Margherita Flatbread Pizza and Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread Pizza both use Mission’s Signature Flatbread Original to create delicious, easy to make pizzas for lunch, dinner, or snack. 

The flatbread for the Margherita is baked with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and tomatoes then sprinkled with parmesan cheese and fresh basil. The Mediterranean Chicken is topped with crushed canned tomatoes, shredded mozzarella cheese, rotisserie chicken, marinated artichokes, Kalamata olives, red onions, and feta cheese Greek-inspired flavors.

Mission’s Mini Naan make adorable pizzas to be served as appetizers, lunch, or even breakfast! Try the Mini Naan Pesto Chicken Pizza topped with basil pesto, shredded chicken, jarred roasted red peppers, red onion, and shredded mozzarella for a fresh-tasting twist. 

Pizza for breakfast? Yes! The Mini Naan Breakfast Pizza topped with tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, an egg, bacon, and green onion is the perfect way to start off the day with a protein-packed breakfast. 

Pita Sandwiches

Mission’s Fresh Signature Pitas come in Original or Wheat. They are the perfect pocket for lunch-time sandwiches or a lighter dinner. These Mediterranean and Middle East inspired dishes will delight your taste buds!

Falafel Pita Pocket with Tahini Sauce is a pocket full of goodness! Make falafels with your favorite store mix and add them to your pita with a tangy tahini yogurt sauce, cucumbers, tomatoes, and red onion. 

Pita Beef Kabobs is made with a Middle Eastern inspired Kofta Kebab. Roll lean ground beef with seasonings of fresh parsley, oregano, paprika, cinnamon, and cumin  into four sausage shapes. Skewer each one and refrigerate for ten minutes before grilling. Serve inside a pita chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and feta cheese.  

Tuna and Chickpea Salad Pita Pocket makes for a refreshing Mediterranean-style lunch option. Whisk together a dressing of olive oil, vinegar, mustard, shallots, chives, parsley, salt, and pepper. Toss canned tuna, chickpeas, black olives in the dressing and then stuff in the pita with  salad greens and tomato slices.

Or how about a chicken pita for a cooler day? The Zesty Chicken Pita Pocket is made with grilled chicken thighs that have been tossed in olive oil, salt and pepper, cumin, coriander, oregano, and garlic powder. Make a salad of sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, and onion tossed in olive oil, salt, pepper, parsley, and lemon juice and fresh parsley and add to warmed pita pockets with hummus. 

Dinners

Our Easy Butter Chicken with Naan recipe is the perfect way to try cooking Indian food at home. Skillet-cook cubed, boneless chicken thighs in butter until browned. Add in onion, garlic,ginger, seasonings including curry powder, tomato sauce, cream, and lemon juice according to the directions. Serve with warmed Fresh Signature Naan. 

Chicken Tikka Masala with Roti is another simple take on classic Indian dish. Fragrant and flavorful, this recipe starts by cooking cubed boneless chicken thighs in coconut until they start to brown. Stir in onion, garlic and ginger; cook until tender. Add tomato paste, garam masala, turmeric, pepper, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper then coconut milk and brown sugar. Serve with warmed roti and sprinkled with almond slices and cilantro.

For Chicken Kabobs with Naan, marinate cubed chicken breasts in olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Create kabob skewers with the chicken pieces, onions, and mushrooms and then grill. Serve with naan, tzatziki sauce, and fresh parsley.
