Mission’s Favorite Fourth of July Recipes and How to Make Them Yourself

June 29, 2021

The Fourth of July should be about big celebrations and delicious food. However, it’s easy to fall into a routine and use the same stale recipes every single summer. If your Fourth of July menu has become boring or if you’re using recipes that are as old as America itself, this is the year to shake things up.

Today, we’ll break down some of the best recipes from the Fourth of July collection on the Mission website and tell you which Mission products to pair with each. From simple snacks and appetizers to mouthwatering main courses, you can revamp your menu in style this summer with these perfect summer dishes.

Cheesy Bacon Corn Dip

Corn dip is typically one of the most popular appetizers at Fourth of July parties, and this recipe will keep you on the guestlist for years. Mission’s Restaurant Style Thin and Crispy Tortilla Chips are a crowd pleaser with traditional flavors and the strength to stand up to a thick dip.

This dip is easy to make and can be prepped and cooked in about 45 minutes. Start by grilling corn and cooking bacon and then preparing the dip mixture. Once everything is combined, bake for about 20 minutes, and enjoy! These classic summer flavors combined with Mission chips are a great way to celebrate the Fourth.

Nacho Dog Bites

Speaking of classic summer flavors, you can have the best of both worlds with our nacho dog bits. Grill up hot dogs and cut them into small medallions. Veggie dogs are a great meatless alternative and can make this dish vegetarian-friendly.

After the hot dogs are cooked, put down a layer of Mission Strips Tortilla Chips on a baking sheet for the base of your nacho platter. Add hot dog pieces, cheese, jalapeños, and pico de gallo and heat until the cheese is melted. These nachos are the ultimate Fourth of July snack.

Loaded Chili Tacos

A tailgate classic, these tacos are perfect for summer barbecues on the block. Start by cooking beef in a skillet before mixing in beans and tomato sauce. After the mixture has thickened, usually 10 to 15 minutes, you’re ready to serve.

Our recipe calls for cheese, avocado, sour cream, and green onions but setting up a taco bar is easy with this recipe. Start with classic Mission Soft Taco Flour Tortillas and include shredded lettuce, cabbage, bacon, jalapeños, olives, and Mission Chunky Salsa for a decadent spread that will make the neighbors jealous.

Classic Slow Cooker Queso

You can’t have an Independence Day party without some type of cheese dip. Our classic slow cooker queso requires little attention and tastes delicious. In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients and cook on low for at least two hours. Before serving, stir well and add more lime juice if necessary.

Mission’s Rounds Tortilla Chips are the pick for best chip with this queso. You’ll find authentic Mexican flavors and a satisfying crunch with every single bite. This recipe tends to vanish quickly, so double the recipe if you’re expecting a crowd.

Sonoran Hot Dog Tacos

Another recipe to give your hot dogs new life, this twist on a classic might be the ultimate culinary mash-up. Start by wrapping hot dogs with bacon slices, and use toothpicks to hold the bacon in place. After the bacon and hot dogs are cooked, wrap in Mission’s Street Tacos White Corn Tortillas

Top your hot dog with pinto beans, tomato, onion, mustard, and jalapeño for filling wrap that you’ll have to taste to believe. Caution is advised, however, as you may never want a hot dog that isn’t wrapped in bacon again.

With an entire collection of Fourth of July recipes, Mission is your one-stop-shop this summer for culinary inspiration and quality products. Celebrate in style this summer with creative recipes and authentic chips and tortillas from Mission.
